Welcome to the FD Dedicated account. This account is rewarding but requires a lot of mental and physical toughness. Everything you need to know to make sure that this account is the right fit for you will be on this page. WELCOME TO THE TEAM!

ONBOARDING

As a driver on this account, you will be expected to deliver 3 loads a week (on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but the account is flexible to the needs of our drivers). You will be required to drive in the weather and road conditions of the Northeast United States. Additionally, our drivers navigate highways, state roads, and city streets. We back into locations where you will not normally see semi-trucks and we hand unload anywhere from 25,000 to 40,000 pounds of freight (1200 to 3000 pieces of freight) each delivery day.

This account is not for the faint of heart. At first you will be sore and may be stressed out with the work environment, but once you settle in you will see yourself get into better shape, learn, and master new driving skills, and earn a nice paycheck each week.

Our equipment is new, not older than 3 years old and consists of Freightliner, International, Kenworth, and Volvo sleepers.

We have 6 paid holidays per year which are paid at $100.00 per day.

We offer the ability to haul single or double trailers.

Pay is simple and steady, you will get:

  • $205 a day while you are on the road.​

    • Drivers paid daily pay without loads, DRIVERS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO TAKE A LOAD TO GET PAID.

  • $250 per trailer you unload.

  • $50 per backhaul.

  • $100 per day for breakdown pay, DRIVERS MUST BE ON THE ROAD, NOT AT HOME.

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

DRIVER MANAGERS

It is the duty of the Driver Managers to take care of the fleet while meeting the Company goals; maximizing profits while ensuring our customer receives the best service possible. At the same time, it is the Driver Managers' duty to ensure that the fleet is taken care of by ensuring the following responsibilities are met:

  • Day-to-day operations of fleet management.

  • Ensuring the drivers on the fleet are effectively and safely dispatched in a manner that benefits the fleet, our customer, and the driver (in that order).

  • For the morale and welfare of the fleet as well as the maintenance and upkeep of the equipment based on the pre and post trip inspections done by each driver.

  • Ensuring that the customer is properly billed for our services and our drivers are properly compensated for doing the job.

  • Recruiting and training the best available applicants to fill out the fleet to offer maximum availability to the customer.

DRIVER TRAINERS

Driver Trainers are the epitome of excellence on the fleet. They are the first drivers they meet on the fleet and set the proper examples for how to operate within the fleet staying within the standards set forth in this guide. Driver Trainers are the drivers’ first point of contact when they need help or have questions.

Driver Trainers will be selected and trained based on their overall performance in order to meet the needs of the fleet and will be held to a higher standard of performance and efficiency than their fellow drivers.

Driver Trainers should not do the job solely for extra pay. There are a lot of extra stresses that they will be responsible for such as:

  • Knowing and exemplifying this guide and acting as subject matter experts on all things related to this account.

  • Being able to calmly teach, coach, and mentor new drivers and old alike.

  • Maintaining a clean truck that they will share with trainees during their onboarding and training period.

PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS

Drivers are trained from a pool of applicants. Drivers who meet the standards set forth in this guide will be expected to do the following:

  • Maintain assigned equipment.

  • Drive in all weather environments..

  • Deliver 3 loads per week while:

    • Properly pre-planning routes.

    • Backwards planning to ensure timeliness.

    • Throw freight at a minimum of 500 pieces per hour.

  • Drive in all the old and busy cities, narrow streets, over-populated areas, small towns, and rural areas.

  • Back into any location while following all FMCSA and DOT rules and regulations and following all Federal, State, and local laws.

  • Be able to diffuse tense situations with Store Managers, Store Employees, residents, and other drivers on the roadways.

  • Communicate all delays and issues.

  • Represent the company professionally.

  • Follow the guidelines outlined in the driver handbook.
